The Story Behind Thirteen Monkeys
Thirteen Monkeys is more than a whiskey name. It carries the memory of Staff Sergeant Christopher W. Dill, Jason Jaskula's best friend and Battle Buddy.
Chris and Jason served together as Drill Sergeants. Chris was also a Buffalo Firefighter—a man who dedicated his life to serving others at home and in uniform. He was killed in action on April 4, 2005.
The date 4/4/05 adds up to thirteen. That number became part of the Thirteen Monkeys name and the thirteen-star design behind the brand. It is a permanent reminder that the people we lose are never reduced to a date or a name. They live on through the stories we tell, the lives they touched, and the work we continue in their honor.
Chris's sacrifice also stands at the heart of the K.I.A. Memorial Roadmarch, founded to honor the Fallen, support their families, and turn remembrance into service. Through the Roadmarch, the Heroes Honor Walk, and the collection of food for Veterans and neighbors in need, his legacy continues to move people forward.
